I traveled to Costa Rica with Adventures by Disney in 2023 and it is still one of my favorite trips to date. Knowing that once I landed in Costa Rica I didn’t have to worry about a thing meant that this was the perfect trip for someone who is always in charge of the planning and execution of our family travels.
On Adventures by Disney land trips you have one local adventure guide from the country you’re exploring and one North American guide, both of these guides are with you for your entire trip and they make sure everything runs smoothly. The first time we met our guides they got to know us a bit, made sure they knew of any dietary restrictions or allergy accommodations that we needed, and anything else that would help our trip run like a well oiled machine. From the moment I met our guides they were warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable about everything we needed to know and do throughout our trip. Their chemistry was so good that before I asked, I thought they had worked together for years but this was actually their first time partnering together. Our local guide, Fico, was a walking encyclopedia of everything Costa Rica – I swear if you had a question, he knew the answer! Our other guide Colin bounces around between different Adventures by Disney trips – he has done Italy, Costa Rica, and the Western US trips. They were both absolutely delightful and we had the best time with both of them.
The Costa Rica trip is one of the more active trips with white water rafting, zip lining, and more included which means there are a lot of people experiencing these things for the first time. The majority of our group had never zip lined before and that was what everyone was most nervous for. It turned out to be the most fun experience with everyone hyping each other up and cheering each other on. Of course, there was a backup experience for those who couldn’t zip line for health reasons or because they just couldn’t get up the nerve to go (I get it). I told myself when I signed up for this trip that I was doing everything included to make the most of my experience.
Back to not worrying about a thing once I landed in Costa Rica – my luggage was handled for me every time we switched hotels, safety gear for white water rafting and zip lining was laid out for us upon arrival to our activities, our adventure guides had sunscreen, towels, bug spray, local snacks (Yipy.. IYKYK) all ready if it was needed, they also took pictures for us during activities which is huge for me because I am always the photographer so being in the pictures was so nice, and so much more.
With Adventures by Disney you get the best of the best from accommodations to local experiences and it’s so worth it. Waking up with a view of Arenal Volcano, arriving at a hotel and being handed towels and drinks, drink making and dance classes, having local tour guides specifically dedicated to Adventures by Disney, smoothie stops planned into road trips, and fresh fruit waiting for you at the start of a tour. Everything is thought of and you don’t want for anything because it’s all planned for you. I have never felt so well taken care of.
